Automated Data Pipelines

We help our clients in three key ways..

1. Data Analytics

"We're data-rich but drowning in reports and tables of data, without any of the insights."
We deliver insights about your business, directly to your eyeballs, so that you can make better, faster decisions. You are Odin, all-seeing.

We take system-exports from business software like your CRM/ERP (exported to csv/Excel), both financial & non-financial. Plus newly scraped datasets & any manually tracked spreadsheets.

These are the type of datasets we use to build a data-model of your business.

Once a data-models been established, we are able to deliver insights about your business, that your current software, simply isn't capable of giving you.

We can build you a time-series, birds-eye-view of literally anything you want to know about your business, at a glance. And with the ability to drill down on item-level facts in seconds.

Time is the fourth dimension. There's value in that data.

Additionally, for active operational items (ie, an Orders export for your daily order status report, or a Cases export for active case-management purposes).

Any active item where you require a standardised, on-demand snapshot-view of your data.

This too is how we add value. The fact that the views are updated instantly, is what we mean when we say 'Automated Reporting'

3. AI

"We're looking to use AI, but aren't sure where it makes sense in our business."
AI is not a large part of what we do. Though this is changing, and we expect that change to accelerate over time.

We can show you what can & can't (or should & shouldn't) be done with AI.

Training & best-practice are a big part of our approach to AI. Aswell as a bottom-up approach to AI use-cases.

We build solutions only when it's safe, practical & financially beneficial to do so.

Not to punch-down on anyone, but most people claiming to be "AI experts" are indeed not that.

We offer our skillset with the understanding that we're likely the best option you've got for AI advice & project deliveries in Perth, WA.

We are experts in Data-Analytics.
We are experts in Automation.
We are humble advisors in AI.

Our Founder

Tom Davidson is the founder of Automated Data Pipelines (ADP).

Tom graduated from Macquarie Uni in 2019. His studies included:

He finished in the Top 1% for the majority of his units; placing on the University merit list & winning several awards for academic achievement.

Following University, Tom worked at a small Corporate Advisory in Sydney, predominantly covering ASX listed precious metals companies. He was then & still-is a huge Gold-Bug.

Tom had a small stint as a farmer, where he battled two consecutive years of floods (Video below)

Tom's Stint as a Farmer..

Don't worry, all my Chickens survived.

The Freelance Days

After realising his income couldn't be dependent on the weather and choosing instead, to pursue farming as a hobby. Tom decided to play to his strengths.

In July-2023 Tom began offering his skillset to SMB's around Perth. Consulting as a freelance Data-Analyst & Automation specialist. The title of 'Specialist' at the time, was of course self-proclaimed.

Through discovery, trial & error, project deliveries, feedback from clients & many, many long-nights. The Service Offering Evolved.

Throughout the two years as a freelancer, Tom's approach, practical-experience & dedicated skillset have evolved into quite a high-value offering businesses of all shapes & sizes. We offer something that all businesses increasingly have a need for, but most SMB's simply lack the staff or the dedicated know-how to do it.

Larger businesses that do have dedicated Data-Analysts, are often lacking capacity and not practicing the simple-approach that ADP's clients appreciate.

By July-2025, Tom incorporated ADP & began trading under the corporate entity. By that time, he'd seen enough to understand the opportunity that lay ahead.

Where Are We Now?

As of early 2026, we've delivered projects to clients across the following industries:

Across all of those projects, the same/similar themes emerged. Specifically two overarching ones;

  1. Manual data-processing represents an unknown ecessary time-cost to your business.
  2. There's a general lack of data visibility across the business, which can be remedied faster, and to greater-effect than many people are expecting.

Our clients range from under $5m annual revenue to north of $100m. So far, the approach applies regardless of industry or size of business. And from discussions with larger, but not-engaged businesses, the exact same issues exist, just on a much larger scale.

Point being; No matter how fancy/expensive/complicated your new ERP system is.. it is our experience that shows, your data almost always ends up in Excel, being manually processed by your team & then visually interrogated by you.

We don't do Macros, nor really any Excel formulas. We write M-code in PowerQuery. A criminally under-rated skill in our opinion. It's one of the most valuable languages a developer could know, even if most businesses aren't yet aware of it.

Nobody other than Power BI developers really know the M language, and even they tend to treat it as an accessory to their models, not as the time-saving workhorse that it is.

Since 2016 you've had the full functionality of PowerQuery inside of Excel. Couple that with the powerful DAX language. And you've got about 80% of the functionality of PowerBI inside of Excel.

This is the approach we take,

The Approach - Keep It Simple

Enough said.

Now, the pitch..

I personally suck at sales. So if you want to start off the relationship. Then this is how it'll likely go.

You call me. Then we meet. Hopefully after that we've got a trial project fleshed out and ready to scope.

Ideally something big, but usually something we believe solvable in a week.

Maybe it's an important dataset you'd just like to view more clearly. Maybe there's an existing data-workflow within the business, that you weren't aware was redundant. Or maybe it's automating the 7th step in sub-process: A of your Mongolian, cattle-herder client onboarding process.

"Why automate the 7th step in sub-process: A of our Mongolian, cattle-herder client onboarding process?" You may ask.

Because the 7th step in sub-process: A of your Mongolian, cattle-herder client onboarding process takes up a disproportionate amount of your time. And if you knew you could automate it tomorrow, then it'd be at, or near the top of your agenda.

And for whatever reason, you seem do alot of business in the cattle industry in Mongolia. So by automating this one specific step, you'd improve your overall service-offering, gaining a competitive edge in the central-Asian beef game. (#winning)

Point of that whole spiel is this.. It's arbitrary. We are outside-observers to your business, we come in, armed with the knowledge & practical experience from doing what we do.

We look for things where we can say "I can help you with that problem immediately" and it's the best news you've heard all day.

Regardless of the project you decide, we then scope it, quote it, build it, test it & deliver it.

After that, we will continue working together, earning our keep on a no lock-in monthly retainer. You're able to end/halt the engagement at any time for any reason, and as a matter of principal, we'll even return that months fee.

If that sounds reasonable to you, give me a call on 0426 943 845.

NOTE; We serve just one master per industry (regionally specific).
